SUSTAINABLE ANTIMICROBIAL COPOLYMER NANOEMULSION OF Aloe Vera AND ALLYL ALCOHOL: AN In-situ APPROACH
The current study describes the formation of a new sustainable Aloe Vera and allyl alcohol nanoemulsion with outstanding antimicrobial efficacy against Gram (+ive) and Gram (-ive) bacteria. The sustainable nanoemulsion of allyl alcohol/butyl acrylate/methyl methacrylate/ Aloe Vera with surfactant initiated by potassium persulphate was synthesized using a semi-continuous seeded emulsion polymerization technique. Several techniques like 1H, 13C NMR, XRD, SEM with EDX, DSC, TGA, DTA, FTIR spectroscopy, and physicochemical properties were utilized for the characterization of the synthesized sustainable nanoemulsion. A comparative study was done with different sets of organic-aqueous ratios for the determination of the ratio effect on the various properties of nanoemulsion. The results revealed tremendous improvement in the physicochemical characteristics and antimicrobial activity of nanoemulsions with a 50:50 organic-aqueous phase ratio.
