Abstract

The interaction of nanocomposite (ZnO/GO) with biomolecules like Protein SOD1 (which is related to neurodegenerative disorders) as a result of many physiological changes in that protein leads to the study of various neurodegenerative disorders. In this work, we investigate the mutated and non-mutated SOD1 proteins (which are responsible for many neurodegenerative diseases) that were suggested to interact with the ZnO-GO composite, both compounds having extraordinary bioactive performances against neurodegenerative disorders. Morphological studies of ZnO-GO nanocomposite were studied by using innovative spectroscopy techniques such as XRD (X-ray diffraction), SAED (selected area electron diffraction), EDX, and TEM (transmission electron microscopy) methods. Impacts on SOD1 proteins, both mutated and non-mutated, such as binding energy, bonding and non-bonding interaction, and docking score studies, were analyzed using docking software.
