DEVELOPMENT OF POLYPYRROLE-YTTRIA STABILIZED ZIRCONIA HYBRID CATALYST FOR ENHANCED PHOTODEGRADATION OF CONGO RED DYE
Synergistic effects from combining different materials can produce and enhance nanomaterials' qualities, whichareadvantageous for raising the effectiveness of photocatalytic processes. In this current work, polymer-based hybridcomposite photocatalysts are mainly synthesised of polypyrrole @ yttria stabilised zirconia (1.05,1:1,1:2) bycost effective combustion method, using urea as fuel. The composite perhaps changed the size and morphology of theyttria-stabilised zirconia, as evident from the results of XRD and SEM analysis. The XRD results support the crystal size ranging from 30 nm to 49 nm. The band gap varies from 3.2eV to 2.7 eV, which strongly affects thephotocatalytic efficiency of Congo red dye in the UV and visible light. The PPy/YSZ -2 shows 99%under UVlight and 89% in Visible light at pH 7.
